Is Mallorca in April Worth It?
Mallorca in April is a dream destination with its serene beaches, blooming landscapes, and historical landmarks. Still, there are some pros and cons to consider before booking your spring adventure:
1. Tourist Crowds and Costs in April
Over the years, I’ve traveled to Mallorca a few times during the month of April. In my opinion, it is far more relaxing and enjoyable than visiting in the summer. There are simply far fewer people traveling in April, making the trip far less stressful. The weather is very nice (more on that later) and flight costs and rooms are much cheaper. Although some seasonal businesses or activities are still closed, there are still lots of things to do, with no lineups and very often lower prices.
Pros
-Fewer tourists compared to peak summer months, leading to a more relaxed experience.
-Lower accommodation prices and off-season travel deals.
-Easier access to popular attractions without the long queues.
Cons
-Some seasonal businesses, including restaurants and beach clubs, might still be closed.
-Limited availability of group tours compared to busier months.
-Reduced nightlife options in certain areas.

2. Activities and Adventures in April
The weather can be nice in April but it’s not comparable to summer and as long as you go into your trip knowing this you’ll be OK. For some water sports like windsurfing and kitesurfing, wind conditions can be exceptional in April, making this the perfect time to travel.
However, if you are thinking about a purely beach-oriented trip in April, you may be disappointed. Not to worry though because there are lots of “non-beach” activities that are great for April such as golf, cycling, and hiking. The weather in April is also ideal for visiting local town markets and festivals. It’s also a great time to take a drive through the mountains on the northwest coast, visit the smaller out-of-the-way towns, and explore the many parks on the island.
Pros
-Ideal conditions for hiking and cycling, especially in Serra de Tramuntana.
-Springtime is perfect for exploring markets, local festivals (like Sant Jordi), and quaint villages.
-Nature reserves like S’Albufera come alive with birdwatching opportunities.
Cons
-Beach activities can be less appealing due to the cooler sea temperatures.
-Certain water sports may have limited availability until later in the season.
