One of the more popular beaches is Cala Comte, attracting beachgoers with its clear waters and stunning views. Las Salinas, another famous spot, is a preferred choice for its long white sandy beaches and vibrant activities. 

One of the unique aspects of Ibiza’s beaches is the clarity of the water, which creates ideal conditions for activities like swimming and snorkeling. Along some parts of the coastline, dramatic cliffs stand tall, providing a striking backdrop with beautiful trails for scenic walks. These features make Ibiza’s beaches a great choice for travelers seeking diverse coastal experiences.

Another spot, known as Atlantis (real name is Sa Pedrera), is a rocky area known for its rock formations and dream-like landscape.

As you can probably guess, beaches in Ibiza are busier during the summer months. Really busy! If you are looking for a tranquil, peaceful Mediterranean experience, summer is not the ideal time. My recommendation is to visit the Balearic Islands in May/June or September/October when the weather is still nice but there are far fewer people. If on the other hand, you are looking for a busy, party atmosphere, then you’re fine traveling during July and August. Just be ready to get up close and personal with hundreds of thousands of other tourists. 

Costs can vary depending on the location, with beach clubs charging for services such as loungers and umbrellas, while some public beaches remain free to access. Parking availability also differs, with some areas offering paid lots and others limited to street parking. Many beaches are equipped with basic facilities like restrooms and showers, but keep in mind that some have no facilities so plan accordingly. 

Popular spots often have nearby restaurants and bars, which make them convenient if you are planning on staying all day. A lot of beaches are also ideal for various water sports like paddleboarding and snorkeling, with local rental shops offering a range of equipment for rent. Families and groups can also enjoy designated picnic or shaded areas at select beaches.

Ibiza attracts a wide range of beach-goers due to its variety of coastal experiences. Families often prefer beaches like Cala Llonga, which has calm waters and kid-friendly activities. This diversity makes Ibiza a destination that caters to all travel styles.

As mentioned earlier, Ibiza is extremely busy during the summer months. For any activities that you are planning to do, you may want to book in advance (if possible) and get an early start before the hoards roll in. 

Try to get to the beach earlier in the day if you want a good spot. If you are driving to the beach, even earlier if you want a parking spot. 

Locals recommend exploring less popular beaches or those off the beaten path to skip crowded tourist areas. My biggest recommendation is to try and travel outside of the peak summer months. I’ve lived in Spain for over 10 years and trust me when I tell you that the difference between traveling in August and September is like night and day. If you are at all flexible in when you can book your holidays, then do yourself a favor and plan for September/October or May/June. I’ve traveled to both Ibiza and Mallorca in the peak summer months and the off-season, and I now only travel in the off-season.
